Packing for beach holidays always makes me wonder what I'll have to leave behind to avoid excess baggage charges. Flying to Bali with Batik Air changed that because the complimentary 20KG checked baggage meant I could pack comfortably without worrying about extra fees. After reviewing airline promotions for the past five years at CupoNation Malaysia, I've realised that generous baggage allowances often provide better overall value than simply booking the cheapest fare, so those are the opportunities I continue highlighting on this page.
Batik Air is a popular option for Malaysians travelling within the country or heading to destinations across Asia, offering a balance of comfort and competitive fares. Flight prices can change quickly depending on travel dates and ongoing campaigns, so timing often makes a big difference. Our booking research found Batik Air travellers commonly spent around RM2,100 on flights and travel arrangements, while earlier fare promotions had reduced eligible bookings by approximately RM147. Before confirming your trip, there's a good chance we've already found a better fare.

This code is most useful when flexibility is already important to your journey. Compare Economy Flexi and Business Flexi based on schedule changes, comfort and included benefits, then use an eligible Mastercard to receive the discount attached to your chosen fare.
The larger percentage on Business Flexi does not automatically make it the cheaper option, so compare the final fares and included benefits for your route. Economy Value or Flexi may still suit travellers prioritising overall cost, while Business Flexi can appeal when its added comfort and flexibility are useful.
Travellers who prefer flexibility in changing flight schedules often look for fare options that allow adjustments. This 15% OFF Flexi Fare offer suits those planning longer trips or uncertain itineraries, making it easier to adapt plans while still managing travel expenses.
Batik Air Club is useful for frequent flyers who want to turn their flights into rewards for future trips. Instead of traditional airline miles, you collect Batik Air Club Points based on the fare type you purchase. These points can be redeemed for rewards such as Batik Air promo codes, complimentary flight tickets and upgrades, giving you another way to reduce your travel costs.
The programme has several tiers, with each level adding new benefits while keeping the perks from the previous tier.
Batik Air Club membership tiers
Silver Tier:
All members start here and can access exclusive prices on selected flights.
Gold Tier:
Fly to 30 destinations to unlock a 25% points bonus on every booking, along with an additional 5 kg baggage allowance at no extra cost.
Platinum Tier:
Fly to 60 destinations to access up to 10 kg of excess baggage allowance, complimentary Business Class upgrades, plus priority boarding, check-in and baggage handling.
Check Batik Air's promotional fares before booking your next flight, especially when you already have several trips planned. A lower promotional fare can reduce your upfront cost while allowing you to continue collecting points towards future rewards.
Keep all eligible bookings under the same Batik Air Club account and check that your points and tier progress are recorded after each flight. When you are close to the next tier, review your upcoming trips to see whether they could help you reach the required destination count without adding a separate trip just for the points.
Your Batik Air boarding pass can unlock discounts beyond your flight. Through the Boarding Pass Privileges programme, passengers can access offers from participating partners covering hotels, attractions, dining, shopping and wellness services.

Once your flight is booked, check the available Boarding Pass Privileges that match your destination. If you are visiting Bali, for example, look through the participating hotels, attractions and spa offers before deciding where to spend your money. Keep your boarding pass accessible during the trip, as you may need to present it to claim the discount.
You can also check for a Batik Air voucher code before booking your flight. Using a flight promotion first and then presenting your boarding pass for eligible partner discounts gives you separate opportunities to reduce the cost of your trip.
Subscribing to the Batik Air newsletter gives you early access to promo codes, fare promotions and limited travel campaigns before many of them appear publicly. During busy travel periods, booking as soon as these offers are released can make a noticeable difference, as lower fare classes are usually the first to sell out.
Students travelling between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia can enjoy RM400 OFF eligible fares through the Flysiswa programme, together with higher baggage allowances and greater booking flexibility. If you're returning home during semester breaks, claiming these benefits before booking can significantly reduce both airfare and baggage expenses.
Selected Batik Air routes include up to 20 kg of complimentary checked baggage, making them a practical choice for longer holidays or family trips. Packing within the included allowance is worth planning ahead, as airport excess baggage charges are usually much higher than paying for luggage in advance.
Pre-ordering duty-free products through Batik Air before your flight gives you 10% OFF selected items, with your purchases collected onboard during the journey. Ordering in advance also provides a wider selection than onboard stock, helping you avoid missing popular products that often sell out on busy flights.
Batik Air allows eligible bookings to be cancelled up to 72 hours before departure, although refund eligibility depends on the fare purchased. Checking the fare conditions before confirming your ticket can save both time and money later, especially if your travel dates are still likely to change.
Refund requests require your eTicket details and bank account information, with processing taking up to 30 working days. Keeping a copy of your booking documents and planning for the waiting period helps if you need to arrange replacement flights before the refund reaches your account.
