From our research and testing, we found that the airasia Best Price Guarantee allows customers to request a refund if they spot a lower rate elsewhere within 24 hours for either hotel bookings or SNAP (flight+hotel) deals made via the airasia MOVE app or website.

Here’s how to claim your refund:

• Chat with Bo on the airasia website or MOVE App

• Choose your enquiry under "Hotel/SNAP", then proceed to "Best Price Guaranteed"

• If eligible, submit your claim through the Google Form link provided

• After review, the price difference will be refunded as a cash refund, which can take up to 48 hours, while cash refunds can take up to 60 working days.

We checked airasia’s rewards setup and found that cashback is not offered directly through airasia itself. However, airasia occasionally partners with BigPay to provide cashback for eligible bookings.

When available, this cashback is credited to your BigPay account rather than appearing as airasia points or wallet credits. It can usually be used for future purchases such as flights, hotels, or attraction tickets.

From past campaigns, BigPay has offered cashback deals like RM555 for spending RM50 or more, RM99 for hotel bookings of RM300 or more, and RM66 for minimum spending of RM100 during specific event periods. These offers are time limited, so it is best to check the promotion terms before booking.

We looked into how airasia handles promo codes across flights, hotels, SNAP! (Flight plus Hotel) bookings, and MOVE duty-free deals to make sure you understand when multiple air asia promo codes can be used.

• airasia does not allow stacking more than one promo code in a single booking for any of these services, which means you will need to choose the one that gives you the best savings at checkout.

• There have been a few notable exceptions based on past programmes. For example, customers who received travel voucher codes from AirAsia X after flight cancellations during the pandemic were allowed to stack up to five travel vouchers in each booking. But this is not part of the current standard promo code system.

Based on our latest checks, airasia’s referral programme is no longer active. While it previously allowed members to earn AirAsia points through a unique referral link, this feature has since been discontinued.

Referees would receive 625 AirAsia points after signing up, downloading the airasia MOVE app, and completing their first login within 30 days. All points were credited only after the requirements were fully met, and repeat referrals to the same person were counted once.

At the moment, airasia does not offer an alternative referral scheme, so members will need to rely on promotions, vouchers, or partner offers to earn additional rewards.

We reviewed airasia’s student programmes and confirmed that they occasionally run the FLYsiswa campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport (MOT). This initiative provides university students with RM400 e-vouchers for domestic flights across Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. Teachers, university staffs and government officials can also enjoy similar offers through WPUA (Waran Perjalanan Udara Awam) vouchers redemption by consulting with the university administrative team or travel agents.

Based on our research, the campaign is only available to selected participants pursuing tertiary education at public universities in Malaysia, and it is not applicable for group bookings. Keeping track of these official announcements is the best way to ensure you can claim the discount when it becomes available.

We checked airasia’s fare structure carefully because many travellers ask about age based discounts before booking. At the moment, there are no special fares or senior citizen discounts available. However, passengers aged 70 and above are exempted from self check in and can enjoy priority check in and boarding at the airport. From our experience, this makes the airport journey more comfortable even though it does not reduce the ticket price.

We reviewed airasia’s payment options to see whether Buy Now Pay Later is currently supported. BigPay previously introduced BigPay Lite, which has since been rebranded as MOVEPay and can be activated through the app. While this ewallet can be used for payments, it does not offer a Pay Later feature at the moment. We checked the airasia app to confirm how gift vouchers work and found that they are available through the "Gifts" section. You can purchase gift vouchers for hotel and flight bookings, as well as gifts related to food, travel, and shopping. These vouchers are often discounted with savings of up to 33%. Options we have seen include hotel vouchers ranging from RM50 to RM200 and flight vouchers from RM100 to RM500. To find them more easily, we suggest tapping on the "Travel" category within the "Gifts" section.

For frequent travelers who often travel domestically with airasia, the HSBC Visa Signature Credit Card will be the best option for you to apply for if you do not own a credit card yet, as it allows you to earn:

• 5 HSBC points for every RM1 spent on AirAsia bookings

• If you are traveling overseas, you will also earn 8 points when you shop there

• Points can be used to be exchanged for tickets, hotel bookings and more vouchers, including those from airasia
